Jesus Christ Is The Issue

“The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry.” | Psalm 34: 15

A child of God should never feel forgotten because the eyes of the Lord are always upon the righteous.

Our circumstances have not escaped His notice.

He knows our circumstance because He has ordained it according to His eternal purpose and will.

A child of God should also be comforted to remember that the ears of our heavenly Father are always open to the cries of His children.

Not only does our Father hear the cries of His children but He tells us that we ought always to pray, and not to faint”.

“And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;” (Luke 18: 1)

What comfort to know that the Lord sees His people and will always hear their prayer.

Tis So Sweet To Trust In Jesus

“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.” | Revelation 21: 4

TRUST is a wonderful thing, and SWEET is a good word to describe it.

Whether between husband and wife, parents and children, friends, or whomever… trust is sweet!

The word implies faith, confidence, and reliance, but that is not all.

There is also a wonderful rest and repose in trust; a freedom from doubts, suspicions, anxieties, and fearful apprehensions.

Trust is calm, peaceful and assured.

“Tis so sweet” when guilty sinners come to “trust in Jesus”.

A Peculiar People In Perilous Times

”Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.” |

The saints of God have doubts and fears.

They sometimes feel that they have no faith at all, and because of their sinfulness, they feel they may not be one of God’s elect after all.

But ask them where all their hope and trust is found and they will quickly tell you Christ is their only hope.

No true believer puts any hope of eternal life in his works, goodness, or faith, but all his hope is in Jesus Christ.

And that is a good hope; a sure hope.

And according to God’s promises, all who put their trust in Him are saved and shall be saved.

There are no doubts in the mind of God’s people as to Who does the saving.

They all know “Salvation is of the Lord.”

And they all know how God saves: through the blood and righteousness of the Lord Jesus Christ.

They all doubt themselves but never doubt God’s Word of Truth, the Gospel.

Do You Believe on the Son of God?

If you trust Christ as your Lord and Savior, your faith in Him is the fruit and evidence of His grace bestowed upon you and wrought in you.

Faith is the empty hand that receives God’s salvation, not the mighty arm that performs it.

Faith in Christ is the result of eternal life bestowed, not the cause of life.

“Lifelock”

“At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.” | John 14: 20

Recently I received an advertisement from a company called “LifeLock.” It is a company that provides security against “identity theft.” Identity theft has undoubtedly become a real issue and problem in today’s world. Crooks and thieves steal your identity and run up debt in your name. As I read over that advertisement, I was thinking how the Lord Jesus did that to His people in reverse.

Without their permission, He assumed the believer’s identity. He stepped into their personal business, the business between them and God and He took their place. (1 Timothy 2: 5) He took control of their account and made it His own.

He didn’t take control of their identity to add debt like a thief does. NO! He took control of the believer’s account in order to pay the debt of sin that they had accumulated. He took my debt and paid it in full as a rich friend might do.

O what a rich friend Christ is. He is rich in love, mercy, grace and forgiveness. How many friends do you have that would die to pay the debt you owe? Jesus paid it all, all to Him I owe. Sin had left a crimson stain, He washed it white as snow. Now, I have His perfect identity, and I am eternally life-locked to Him.
