Walk In Him

“As you have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in Him: rooted and built up in Him, and stablished in the faith…” | Colossians 2: 6-7

Have we received Christ Jesus, the Lord?

Then let us continue in Him just as we began in Him – relying entirely upon His grace for our acceptance with God and access to His mercy. Just as, at the first, we looked for all things in Him, so let us still seek no other treasury of Divine blessing other than the Son of God. Let us look for no “higher life” than to be found in Him, not having our own righteousness but His righteousness received by faith alone. Let us look for no second work of grace as a supplement to the grace we have already been given in Christ. As He first captivated our hearts, let us continue to be captivated by Him consumed with a desire to know Him and finding no greater joy than to learn of Him. This is the good life.

All else is a lingering death!
All else is a casting aside of wonderful things for worthless things.
All else is to live like a slave rather than as a son!

Standing Up Under Trials

No trial or suffering is easy. If trials were without pain and discomfort, they would not accomplish the purpose for which they are sent. (James 1: 2-4)

But, when we look at all of earth’s sorrows, sufferings, and trials in the light of His eternal glory; when we shall be like Him, enjoy His presence, and partake in His perfect kingdom, then we will look on these present inconveniences as nothing. They are not worthy to be compared to that glory. (I John 3: 1-3)

The Mystery of the Faith

“This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.” | 1 Timothy 1: 15

Christ Prayeth for the Apostles and All Believers

These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee:

2 As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him.

3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

4 I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.

5 And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.

6 I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them me; and they have kept thy word.

7 Now they have known that all things whatsoever thou hast given me are of thee.

8 For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me; and they have received [them], and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me.

9 I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine.

10 And all mine are thine, and thine are mine; and I am glorified in them.

11 And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we [are].

12 While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled. | John 17: 1-12
